MacGregor GordonMACGREGOR, Gordon William Kirk  - 71, of Toronto, Ontario, passed away suddenly in Toronto from a heart attack on December 5, 2017.

He was born in Toronto November 8, 1946 to Keith and Josephine (Ley) MacGregor.

His father (B.Gen Retired) served in the Canadian Army (PPCLI) and the family moved extensively during his school years, including stays in several provinces of Canada and overseas in England.

After graduating from high school he moved to Toronto in 1964 to work for the Atmospheric Environment Service of Environment Canada. It was here his lasting passion for caves and caving (spelunking) started and he had been a member ever since; and current President of the Toronto Caving Group.

In 1990 he retired from Environment Canada and devoted much of his time to training other cavers with frequent trips to Moira cave, West Virginia and storm drains of Toronto. He travelled to many other locations around the world (China, Mexico, Australia, etc.) for caving and rappelling off cliffs both above and below ground.

Predeceased by his parents (Keith 2008, Josephine 2015), he is survived by brothers, Clive (Claire) of Halifax, and Roy (Corinne) of Winnipeg, nieces/nephews, Jennifer (Bruno De Deckere) MacGregor of Brighton, of England, Daniel MacGregor of Calgary, Cameron MacGregor and Dawn MacGregor of Toronto.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date.

A celebration of Kirk's life will be held at a later date in association with the Toronto Caving Group.

The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Parkview Arms where Kirk resided and members of the Toronto Caving Group for their decades of friendship to Kirk.
