Thompson GrantTHOMPSON, Grant F. (Moose)  - Grant passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on December 18, 2017 at the age of 85, at Lakeshore Lodge, in Etobicoke.

Grant was a CN employee for 47 years.

Beloved husband of Margaret (Harper) for 65 years, dear father to Ken (Louise), Rick (deceased) and Debbie.

Loving grandfather of Matthew (Jeanette) of Hamilton and Daniel (Laura) of Edmonton. Loving brother to Lois (Ron, predeceased) and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to the staff of Storefront Humber for their compassionate home care and both Kipling Acres and Lakeshore Lodge Long Term Care staff for their care and support.

In keeping with Grant's wishes, a private service was held on Friday.

If desired, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto or a charity of your choice.

When my grandfather died this morning, I was grateful that Jae and I were with my parents when the call came in. My grandparents were together for 65 years, which amazes me. Things will be different now and the next while is going to feel empty. Someone who's always been around, who's always been there, is now missing. I know our family will keep looking out for each other.

We will endlessly support each other, as families (and I mean whatever your family looks like) are supposed to do. But still, it's going to be tough.

We do this as a family, that's loved and supported by friends, neighbours, neighbourhoods and even a city.

Rest in peace Grant Thompson and thank you for all the work you did in your life and the people you have left behind. Love Matt and Daniel.
