GATTONI, Edward (Ed) Joseph  - After successfully battling several health issues, Ed fought his last battle on Friday, December 29, 2017.

Always by his side and forever in his heart, is his loving wife of 63 years, Betty (nee Edwards); his children, Lance (Julia) and Susan (Wayne Coyle) and his grandchildren, Laera, Joel (Brooke), Emma, Gattoni and Shannon and Megan, Coyle.

Ed was born on February 16, 1934 (Toronto).

He met Betty while in Grade 2, Davenport Road School. They became forever sweethearts and married on July 16, 1954.

Working briefly at his Dad's construction business, he soon found his passionate vocation in the Fire Protection Industry. He became well respected and a top salesman, co-founding Safety First Products Ltd.

Through his hard work and endless drive, the company became a success due to his dedication in providing high quality products and services.

A wonderful family man and loving husband, with Betty by his side, they worked hard to provide a great home life filled with love and laughter.

With many thanks to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and Georgian Bay General Hospital, including all staff and volunteers for their compassion and support. Special thanks to Dr. R. Kotchetkov and staff.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to RVH or GBGH.

A celebration of Ed's life will take place in the spring.
