PALMER, Glenn Bernard  - August 18, 1926 - January 1, 2018

On January 1, 2018 Glenn Bernard Palmer one of the kindest and gentlest of souls, passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loved ones.

Glenn was born in Freeport, Illinois and served in the US Navy in WWII as a radio operator specialist, before moving his family to Canada to continue his career as a great "gas man" with Consumers' Gas.

He knew before many of us that the most important thing in this world is the people you love. He encouraged many to pursue and nurture their hopes and dreams.

Dad/Grandpa was a kid at heart, especially when it came to his passion for his cookies, ice cream, chocolate, sports and games. He had a great sense of humour and loved a good laugh. His wife Katherine with whom he was married to for over 65 years and son, Big Douglas predeceased him.

Proud Father of Monica (Jim), Sandra (Ken), Teresa (Gary), Doug (Sheryl), and Donald (Paola); and Grandfather to Heather (Ron), Bruce (Sophia), Damon (Ketty), Lindsay and Ashley; and Great-Grandfather to Billi, Shelby, Mia, Kayla and Gabrielle; and brother-in-law to William Brinker (Sandra). His love, commitment and generosity to the family will always be remembered and he will be forever loved and never forgotten.

The family invites you to a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, January 6, at 2pm at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, 4115 Lawrence Ave. E. Scarborough, ON. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
