LAWRENCE, Clifford "Cliff" Worthy - (February 13, 1930 - January 18, 2018) -

After a brief illness, Cliff Lawrence passed away peacefully with his family near on January 18th.

Born in Toronto to Clifford and Lilly and spending his near 88 years in the Toronto area, including the last 35 in Aurora, "Junior" touched the lives of many: family, friends, students and colleagues.

Following high school - where Cliff was a standout hockey, football and baseball star - he attended the Toronto Teachers College, where he met the love of his life; wife and partner for the last 64 years, (Patricia) Joan (née Myers).

Following retirement in the mid-80s, Cliff's great joy was participating in the lives of his grandchildren: Colleen and Keith's two boys, Jonathon and Matthew and Mark's three children, Sara, Robert and Eric.

Cliff's boisterousness, energy and social disposition routinely put him in the mix sharing stories and laughter with strangers and friends alike. He carried a heavy heart, though, with the unexpected passing of his beloved Andy in 1992, but we take consolation in knowing that they are now reunited.

Cliff leaves a lifetime of love, memories and, of course, stories for Joan, Mark, Colleen, his sister Bev (Rick), Jonathon, Matthew, Sara, Robert, Eric and many friends and colleagues.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of The Southlake Hospital, who provided much care and comfort to Cliff during his final few days.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society and/or The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation are welcome.
