TAYLOR, Janet Elizabeth (nee HARKNESS) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother.
Janet passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Janet will be forever remembered and deeply missed by her devoted husband of 59 years Wally, her children Andrew (Dawn), Lynda, Russell (Lisa) and Leslie (Lynn) and her four grandchildren Adam (Leah), Kelsey, Macy and Zoey. Janet will be missed by everyone who knew or was touched by her compassion, humour and wisdom.
As an innovative educator, Janet created a counselling model for at-risk youth that continues to bear her name. She had a profound impact on the lives of the many students she touched.
In retirement, Janet greatly enjoyed her garden, her friends at book club and travelling with Wally. One particular passion was her role as props-master with the Borelians Community Theatre group.
The quest for the perfect item took her and Wally on many joyous treks.
At Janet's request, there will be no service or visitation at this time; however, a celebration of her life will be held where we may all share our many cherished memories of this most special woman.
Friends and family will be notified in the spring of the date and location.
