Warwick AlfredWARWICK, Alfred John (Bud)  - Was born in Toronto on July 24, 1924 and died at K-Wing in the Veterans Facility at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto on January 23, 2018.

Bud grew up in both Toronto and Richmond Hill with his five brothers and sisters: Dan, May, Anne, Bill and Helen.

At 19 he enlisted in the Army with the Queen's Own Rifles and served overseas in England, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Upon returning to Canada he enrolled at the University of Toronto where he attained a degree in Forestry.

On September 16, 1950, he married Elsie Rosati.

Bud and Elsie lived together in Oakville, Burlington, Toronto and Sault Ste. Marie and had three children John (Barb Palk), Doug and Laura (Graeme Jewett). Bud's career centred in the pharmaceutical industry with Parke Davis but his real career was raising his family. He loved taking Laura off to tennis lessons, Doug to saxophone lessons and John to drum lessons. Bud himself was an accomplished drummer... not quite Buddy Rich... but close.

More recently, he loved preparing for visits from his four grandchildren: Carter, Stephanie, Will and Nick (Stephanie Morris). His family was his life. Elsie died in September 2007 and things really changed for Bud.

However, as fate would have it, a neighbour at Hearthstone, Margaret Zagrosh, became a widow around the same time Bud became a widower and a decade long friendship followed until Bud and Margaret's health began to decline. Despite developing a rare condition which prevented normal eating and drinking for the past two years, Bud fought the good fight and always had a big smile for each of his four grandchildren, his life's new focus.

The entire family wants to thank Bud's, or Alfred to some, many caregivers in Toronto, Oakville and Burlington. In particular, we would like to thank Isabel, Ramon, Jenalyn (Jean), Maria (Marilou) and Janice. We were very lucky to have such caring and professional personal support workers, nurses and doctors.

The family will hold a private funeral. A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road in Toronto.
