ELLENZWEIG, Ruth (nee VINER)  - Passed peacefully on January 16, 2018.

Ruth was born in Montreal to Charlotte and Dr. Norman Viner in 1924.

She was fortunate to have the benefit of growing up with two loving siblings, Bill and Bernice.

Dr. Viner graduated from McGill University. He later studied with Freud and other psychoanalysts in Vienna and practiced neuropsychiatry when he returned to Montreal.

He was a scholarly man with an enormous library of books occupying several rooms in the Viner house. Ruth's mother was a hospitable person who had grown up in New York City with a great love of classical music and opera which her children came to share with her.

Two sons and a daughter were born to the couple. Peter lives in the Portland, Oregon area. David (Nora Ellenzweig sadly lost to her loving family in 2008) is a resident of Toronto and Susan resides in Mississauga with her husband Ken and two daughters. Ruth has five grandchildren. Colin and Lisa Ellenzweig are Ontario residents. Michael Ellenzweig lives in Seattle. Kate and Jennifer Grohmann live in Mississauga.

Family and friends are invited to a gathering to celebrate Ruth's life at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West in Toronto on February 10, 2018 at 1 p.m.
