Thompson HollisTHOMPSON, Hollis (Tom) - Hollis Thompson, passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital on January 31, 2018.

Tom was born in Dunstaffnage, Prince Edward Island, the youngest of eleven remarkable children.

He was in the RCAF from 1949-1970 and was a Veteran of the Korean War.

Until his retirement in 1985, Tom thrived in the real estate industry in Belleville and Toronto.

Tom was a voracious reader and had a keen interest in history and politics.

He was passionate to know more about the world in which he lived and enjoyed many rich travel experiences in his life.

His love for adventure and travel led him to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity working with project teams in Central and South America.

As well, in his eightieth year, he designed and built a house on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. His happiest times were spent at Linda and Tom's Sandbanks Cottage with family and friends. Tom will always be remembered for his loving ways, his kindness, his calmness and his positive outlook on life.

If patience is indeed the companion of wisdom, Dad/Poppa/Tom was indeed a very wise man.

He will be terribly missed by his most loved and adored wife Linda, his children Linda, Deb (Ian), Don (Lisa), Janice (Tom), his step-children, Scott, Sandra and Sam, his seven grandchildren and his five great-grandchildren. Tom had a wide circle of dear friends and extended family who will miss him greatly. Cremation and a private family service has taken place.

The Celebration of Life for this gentle and most beloved man will take place on April 7, 2018 from 1-2 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, (375 Mount Pleasant Road). Reception to follow from 2-4 p.m.

In Tom's memory a donation to Habitat for Humanity would be appreciated.
