CASEY, Marie Bernice "Bernie" - Passed away peacefully on April 20, 2018, surrounded by friends and family, after a lengthy illness.
She is dearly loved by brother Gerald Casey (the late Denise Casey), nieces Sheila, Maureen, Colleen, Judy and Sue (the late Mark Pogue) and nephew John (Suzanne), many beloved grand-nieces and nephews and her extended family and friends.
Bernice was predeceased by parents Charles and Lavina (Graham) Casey. She attended Brescia College at Western University and graduated from the teacher education program at University of Toronto.
A savvy business woman, she taught business and data processing at Mimico High School for many years until she retired in 1989.
Clever, witty and fun-loving, Bernice enjoyed travel, theatre and music and was a skilled bridge player. Special thanks to the staff at Christie Gardens and especially her kind and loving care partners who looked after her so well.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 26th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne St., Toronto, ON, M4X 1K5 . Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 27th at 10 a.m. at ST. BASIL'S CHURCH, 50 St. Joseph St., Toronto, ON, M5S 1J4.
In lieu of flowers, Bernice would appreciate donations to Birthright of Toronto or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
