McCONKEY, Enid Louise (nee HANCOCK)  - Passed away on June 20, 2018, at Harmony Hills Care Community, North York, after a long life well-lived.

Born in Smith Township August 1, 1919, Enid moved to Toronto in 1968 as a young widow.

By both nature and circumstance, she was a sharp-minded, big-hearted, strong-willed woman.

Nothing fazed her as she travelled the country for Colgate.

She was a dedicated volunteer for her church and community, becoming North York Volunteer of the Year in 1992. Her pies were the highlight of many a meal - and at Grandma's, fudge was an hors d'oeuvre, served with a choice of Boggle, euchre, or cribbage.

Ever sharp as a tack, Enid's last years were filled with pride in her family's achievements and delight in the arrival of each new great-grandchild. In the end, she was well cared for by the staff at Harmony Hills.

Predeceased by husband Evans, son Ray, brothers Gordon, Arthur, Clarence, Cecil and Roy and sisters Eulah, Marian and Olive.

Enid is survived by her sister Jean. GiGi will be remembered by 13 great-grandchildren. Grandma will be dearly missed by Jill, Darryn and Janet, Trevor and Robyn, Craig and Angie, Lisa and Lewis, Chris and Crystal.

Mom will be forever loved by Steve and Leslie, Mary and Roger.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2018 with a Funeral Service at noon at the Comstock-Kaye Life Celebration Centre, 356 Rubidge Street.

A reception will follow the service with burial afterward at Little Lake Cemetery.

Memorial donations to The United Church M&S Fund or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
