SMITH, Kathryn Elizabeth (KAYE) (nee CORKUM) - We sadly announce that Kaye passed away peacefully on June 29, 2018, at the age of 93.
Reunited with her beloved husband John (Jack) McSwan Smith and their daughter Shelley (John).
Loving mother of Jeffrey (Ilona), Graham (Sandrine) and Cameron (Elyn).
Treasured grandmother of Jason, Stephen, Gordon, Duncan, Cameron, Alivia, Wynn, Morgan, Christopher, Ryan, Katie and their spouses. Caring great-grandmother of eleven great-grandchildren. Memories of her will last in our hearts forever.
Kaye will be fondly remembered for her vibrant, outgoing personality and down-to-earth approach to life, remaining true to her origins growing up in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, graduated from Mount Allison and worked for the Royal Bank of Canada, before devoting herself entirely to raising a family.
She also donated much of her time and energy to the United Church and its day care centre in Etobicoke, as well as to various other causes and charities.
The family wishes to express its thanks to Kipling Acres and its immense affection and gratitude to Fatuma whose loving care sustained Kaye in her later years.
A Memorial Visitation will take place at Glendale Funeral Home, Etobicoke, on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Centennial Infant and Child Centre or to the Alzheimer Society.
