CRONEY, Kenneth  - On June 29, 2018 our beloved Ken Croney passed away.

Ken was born on February 20, 1924 in Toronto.

He enlisted in the Canadian Army at 17, serving two combat tours during the invasions of Holland and Italy.

Ken was wounded but returned to the front, and later decorated for bravery.

The worst times led to the best. On leave in Dundee Scotland, he met Thomasina O'Donnell; they were married 71 years.

A railroad engineer for Canadian Pacific, Ken retired at age 62. Artistry increased with age. At 50 he learned the bagpipes and led two bands.

At 65 Ken painted landscapes and portraits. At 69 they built a home and flower garden in Buckhorn, enjoyed until their late 80s.

Along with his loving wife, Ken is survived by his children, Ken Croney (Julie), Margaret Brown (Fred), Elizabeth Croney (Jim Clark) and Alex Croney.

He is missed by grandchildren Shannen Croney; Kathleen Samples (Leif); Ryan Knight (Melissa); Pearson, Cameron and Meg Croney-Clark; and Savannah Croney; and by great-grandchildren Rebecca De Wild, Elisabeth and Owen Goldberg and McKenzie and Matthew Knight.

Donations can be made to yellowbrickhouse.org.
