KIERAN, H. Sheila (nee GINZLER)  - May 4, 1930 - July 6, 2018

A feisty, talented, fierce woman known for confidently speaking her mind - often on behalf of others and frequently in rather salty language!

A passionate advocate for progressive social justice and proud feminist passed away in her 89th year of an extraordinary life. Sheila was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Susan, and is survived by her children: Michael, Patricia, Mark, Jon, Frances, and Andrew, their spouses Shelley, David and Janet, her grandchildren: Robert, Chris, Andrew, Graeme, James, John, Justin, Alexis, Nicholas, Arielle, Sean, and Caitlin and her great-grandsons Leo and Isaac.

Though predeceased by her much beloved sister, Myra Kates, she treasured her "favourite brother-in-law", Mannie and nieces: Eve Lipsyc, Rebecca Richardson, and Sara Katz

She was a television producer, a film critic and a contributor to many of Canada's leading publications, including Chatelaine, Saturday Night, The Canadian Magazine, and The Tamarack Review.

Sheila had the astonishing good fortune of spending the last weeks of her life under the devoted care of her new friend, Dr. Jeff Myers of Bridgepoint Palliative Care. Dr. Myers and the extraordinary staff of 4N have our profound gratitude for their extreme tender care and utmost professionalism.

Please join us for Sheila's Celebration of Life on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 21 Shaftesbury Ave., (lower level atrium), Toronto (directly across from Summerfield subway station and one block south of municipal parking lot) from 6 - 8 p.m.
