SIEGEL, Ernest - Passed away at Michael Garron Hospital, Toronto, Ontario on July 7, 2018 in his eighty-eighth year.
He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth and brother Jack.
He is survived by his wife of over 60 years Claire, his sons Robert and Andre and grandchildren Tyler, Nelson and Cole.
Ernest was born in Austria and immigrated to Canada in the early 1950s.
After spending his first years in northern Quebec working in the mines he headed for the promised land of Toronto in 1957.
On arriving in the big city he landed a job sweeping the parking lot of a Dominion grocery store and spent the next 30 years rising through the ranks and having a variety of memorable adventures with his Dominion colleagues and friends. To both his real family and his Dominion family he was always a solid rock of support, straight-forward, and generous. He will be missed, always.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018. Service will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018 followed by a reception from Noon to 2 p.m. All will take place at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto.
