She emigrated from her war torn homeland to Canada after enduring the horrors of WWII.

Dear mother of Ilze Reid, loving grandmother of Katrina and aunt of Dzemma Tikmere.
Vija is the daughter of Karlis and Ida Eizenija Mikelsons (nee Blumbergs) of Riga, Latvia.
