SERNIAK, Mary (nee TYMCHUK)  - 1929 - 2018

Peacefully passed away on June 28, 2018 at Sunnybrook Hospital in her 88th year.

She is survived by her son Philip (Trina) and her much-loved granddaughter, Charlotte.

Born to immigrant parents Mary was a proud Torontonian and Canadian.

Being born in the years of the depression, she rose out of the inner city to become a successful real estate investor.

A recreational sports enthusiast, Mary counted skiing, tennis and golf among her interests and spent many happy hours at St. George's Golf Club where she once served as Captain of the Ladies Section.

Other interests included playing bridge, the arts and spending time at her cottage in Muskoka.

She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage and supported the Ukrainian community through her attendance at festivals and other events.

A private burial was held to honour her life and legacy.
