RYAN, Maureen Elizabeth - 1950 - 2018 Passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospice in London, Ontario with close friends at her side after a short and brave battle with cancer.
Her calm and bravery was a great help to her family in dealing with her illness.
A caring sister, aunt and friend to many, Maureen is survived by and will be sadly missed by her brothers Gregory, Bruce and Norman Ryan and his wife Deborah and their two children, Rachael and Jake.
Maureen was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1950 to James and Martha Ryan (nee Buffet).
At an early age her parents moved with her and her younger brother Gregory to Toronto, Ontario.
Maureen was raised in Scarborough, Ontario and obtained her Masters of Library Science from the University of Toronto.
She moved to London, Ontario to begin a life-long professional career at D.B. Weldon Library at the University of Western Ontario. Her family and friends would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other staff at London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria campus) and especially the team at St. Joseph's Hospice for Maureen's compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Colborne Street United Church, conducted by Reverend David Carrothers, 711 Colborne Street at Piccadilly Street on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
