Lewko ZenniaLEWKO, Zennia  -

January 1, 1936 - April 13, 2023

We lost a wonderful, inspiring woman on Thursday, April 13, 2023.

Zennia Jennifer Lewko passed away peacefully at age 87, at Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

She was blessed to have her daughter Jennifer with her, and to have had many visits from her children, grandchildren and other family and friends in her final days.

Beloved wife of the late Merle for 64 years, she was a devoted mother to Jennifer Pollock (Miles), Bill Lewko (Kim) and Alan Lewko (Janet Reeve), and cherished grandmother of Evan (Lindsay), Shane (Nikol), Nicholas, Jacob, and Nathan, and great-grandmother of the latest apple of her eye, Paige.

Zennia was woman of simple tastes, few words and great love -- a true guiding force for her children.

She worked side-by-side with husband Merle building the family business, Braemor Gift & Variety, and donated much time to St. George Ukrainian Church.

She will be sadly missed by all.

Zennia was a dear sister of Orest Spilchak (Maureen), the late Bob Spilchuk (Mary) and Eugene Spilchuk (Joyce), and aunt of Theresa, Jennifer, Junie, Barry and Tim.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21 from 4 to 8pm at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E., Oshawa, with a Panachyda (memorial service) at 7:30 pm.

A funeral service honouring Zennia will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 11 am at  ST. GEORGE THE GREAT MARTYR UKRAINIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 42 Lviv Blvd., Oshawa.  A Celebration of Life will follow the funeral service.

Internment will be at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery, Courtice, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by Hill House Hospice at www.hillhousehospice.com.
