MEREDITH, Eleanor Frances (née O’Neill)  – The world lost a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Eleanor Frances Meredith passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 24, 2023, in her 63rd year.

 

She devoted her life to her six children, Angela Creagmile (Jordan), Eleanor Meredith Jr., Katie Coppins (Dave), Gordon Meredith Jr. (Hannah), Julie Calver, James Meredith, and 11 grandchildren Alexis, Marissa, Tyson, Luca, Tiegan, Addison, Emily, Trent, Paxton, Jacob, and Savanna.

 

Eleanor was born August 5th, 1961 in Oshawa, Ontario to Francis “Frank”Thomas O’Neill (predeceased) and Betty Eleanor Marie O’Neill. She is the beloved sister of Kevin O’Neill (Dawn), Scott O’Neill (Angel), Marion French (Greg), and aunt to Kyle (Alex), Kristen (Connor), Matthew, and Lucas.

 

Eleanor was born in Oshawa and raised in Brooklin. She graduated from Anderson (ACVI) and in 1980 she went on to do one year of nursing at Centennial College.

 

She continued on to complete the PSW program at Durham College in 2005, while raising her 6 children on her own. She was fortunate enough to find her dream job, helping people through personalized Animal Therapy Programs at WindReach Farms since 2011 where she was the head farmer.

 

Eleanor’s family would like to extend their appreciation or the Markham Stouffville Hospital – Oncology, the Central East Community Care Nurses, and the Palliative Care Physicians at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa for their care, compassion, and professionalism.

 

Family and friends are invited to Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Saturday, September 30th for a service to celebrate Eleanor’s life beginning at 4:00p.m.

 

If desired, memorial donations to WindReach Farm or Markham Stouffville Hospital - Oncology Unit would be appreciated by the family .
