Nishikawa JoanNISHIKAWA, Joan Eiko (nee MIURA)   -

March 30, 1929 - September 24, 2023

Joan passed peacefully, surrounded by her children, Lori (Rob), Robert (Joan) and LeeAnne (Peter), at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa.

Beloved wife of Roy for 56 years.

Joan leaves grandchildren, Andrew (Christina), Justin (Stef), Graham (Madeleine), Emily (Gerard), Martin (Gloria), Ben and Sam; as well as great-grandchildren, Jaide (Boston), Rowan, River, Midori, Miya, Kai and Juniper.

Joan's early years were spent on the west coast in the community of Woodfibre, BC. After the difficult years during WWII, Joan and her family moved to Hamilton, ON.

It was there that she met her husband, Roy. Together they had a full and fulfilling life raising their three children in Don Mills. Joan and Roy loved playing tennis and golf and were avid curlers and skiers in the winter.

They loved attending concerts, playing bridge, socializing with relatives, and they travelled extensively when their children were grown.

A real social butterfly, Joan was well-loved by all the residents at The Court at Brooklin (Whitby, ON), for her kindness and her gentle sense of humour.

She will be missed.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date.
