Mumford JamesMUMFORD, James Mumford -

AUGUST 25, 1938 – OCTOBER 16, 2023

October 16th, 2023 was a day that turned the world upside down for our family.

Pops/dad/grampa/great grampa-to-be to our new Mumford addition, enjoyed his daily walk and returned home to his chair to enjoy the rest of the day, starting with his afternoon nap.

That's when the decision was made by a higher power that he would enjoy the peacefulness from now on.

James Wallace Wayne Mumford passed away peacefully on his terms, as it should be.

He has left here to continue to love and continue his memories, his loving wife of almost 61 years, Oct. 27th, the love of his life for 71, Lorraine Mumford (nee Langford), daughter Joanne (Jodi) Hatch & husband Robert (Rob), son Douglas (Doug) Mumford & wife Karen, grandchildren James (Jimmy) Mumford & Deanna Ryckman & Brody Hatch & Ben Perlman, Sara Pickford & Justin, Brett Hatch & Madi Williamson, Alden Mumford & Jessi, Kelsey Mumford, Willem Meredith & Spencer Meredith, his many in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends near and far.

Jim was the last remaining of 9 siblings, Ed, Ron, Earl, Ross, Dorothy (Dot), Cecil, Dale, & Doug, all raised on Mumford Road in Mumford Station/Harcourt, Ontario.

Visitation to be held at the OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, Oshawa on Wednesday October 25th from 10:00 am until time of funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, mom would love donations to the Alzheimer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at oshawafuneralservices.com for the Mumford family.
