GILL, Bruce Gill -

1951 - 2023

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard Bruce Dean Gill of Ajax, Ontario on Wednesday November 29, 2023, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

Bruce died at the age of 72 years, after a lengthy struggle with his health.

Bruce was a cherished and loving husband of Janice Gill nee Armstrong of 43 years and proud father of Eric Gill.

He will be greatly missed by his siblings; Barbara (Jim) Abercrombie, Richard (Jan) Gill, Megan Gill, Mari Gill-Eyers (Dan-predeceased), brother-in-law Adrian VanderWielen, Bruce Armstrong, sister -in- law Alice Armstrong and his many nieces and nephews.

Bruce was predeceased by his father Dr. Peter Gill and mother Dr. Norma Gill nee Dean. Bruce was always ready and willing to help his friends and family in need.

Bruce had many hobbies.

He will also be missed by his Filk family and record collecting friends.

He was an avid follower of sports; watching the games and keeping up with the statistics.

The backyard birds and critters were a constant source of joy and entertainment for him.

After retiring from a career in toy sales warehouse management; Bruce spent time assisting with the cat rescue, Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary and adopted a cat of his own (Vinnie) whom he rescued as a stray.

Celebration of Life will follow at a date to be determined.

For those who wish, donations can be made, in memory of Bruce, to Second Chance Wildlife Sanctuary in Pickering, ON.
