GOODE, Christopher ‘Chris’ Goode  -  80, passed away on November 24, 2023 in Whitby, Ontario.

Chris’ story began in Birmingham, England.

He was born on September 3rd, 1943 to loving parents Harry and Gladys and grew up together with his two siblings, Robert and Patricia.

It was in Africa that Chris met his future wife Lyn (Clark), they were married in January, 1969 and spent their first years as a married couple exploring the African countryside.

In 1971, Chris and Lyn welcomed their first child, Steven. In 1974 the family of three embarked on another new adventure emigrating to Canada and, not long after settling just west of Toronto, they welcomed their second child, Michael.

The family soon relocated to Whitby, ON where they purchased their first home.

An incredibly proud Dad, Chris supported and encouraged his boys completely. He was an equally proud and devoted Grandad to his three grandchildren Hannah, Liam and Owen and the best father-in-law to Leanne and Angela.

Recently, Chris celebrated his 80th birthday and as he looked around the room he remarked at how lucky he felt, how blessed, to be surrounded by family and friends.

He couldn’t believe that everyone had come out to celebrate him. A gentleman and a gem, we will miss you Chris, always.

There are no words to express how grateful we are to our friends and neighbours who have been so supportive, and to the Durham Region First Responders for doing everything they could, your kindness will not be forgotten.

Arrangements with Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the CNIB Foundation or a charity of your choice.
