Rompré FernandROMPRÉ, Fernand

Peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, just two weeks after celebrating his 90th birthday with his family.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Fernande (2011) and his daughter Nicole (1984).

Loving father of Suzanne and her husband Don Nobes.

Cherished grandfather of Kevin (Rachel) Nobes and Emily (Brandon) Morley and the best great-grandfather to Kyler.

Fernand was the son of Lucien & Albertine and he is predeceased by his siblings Rolande (Paul) Naud, Gisele (Jean) Lebel, and Armande (Guy) Dessureault and by his in-laws Gerard (Alice) and Rose Aimee Baillargeon (Laurent).

He will be missed by his in-laws Fernand (Marilyn), Paulo (Florence), Marcel (Rejeanne), Francoise (Maurice), Francois (Pierrette), Pauline (Jean-Marc), and Julienne, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Fernand was born and raised in Senneterre, Quebec. He married Fernande on September 7, 1959 before moving to Oshawa. He was a dedicated member of Local Union # 463 for over 65 years.

He loved to garden, especially his delicious strawberry patch and always keeping his lawn looking so immaculate.

Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids & more recently watching his great grandson grow this past year. Kyler was always the reason for the biggest smile on his face. Family gatherings were always something he looked forward to & without a doubt was the sharpest dressed one in the room.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at  ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME(124 King St. E., Oshawa).

A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 11:30 a.m. Interment at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Community Living Oshawa/Clarington or to a charity of your choice.

Online condolences may be shared at  armstrongfh.ca .
