Up until a few months earlier she had been her usual active self, curtailed somewhat by the pandemic which allowed her to spend more time with family.

Former wife of George de Veber, Nephrologist at Toronto Western Hospital.
Steadfast sister to Leslie (Kinoshita) and Joanne (Knowlton).

BROWN, Frank Harold - (May 18, 1936 – June 20, 2021) - My darling Frankie passed peacefully after a four year battle with heart disease.
Loving husband of 44 years to Susan (nee Sporn). Devoted father to Kelly and Jesse. Son of the late Reuben and Shaindle Brown. Son-in-law of Judi Sporn and the late Herb Sporn, and Carol and Lawrence Granovsky.
Survived by brother Mel, sisters and brothers-in-law Stephen and Ellen Sporn, and Patrice and Brian Pollack, nieces, nephews, great nephews and many cousins and friends.

(1938 - 2021) - It is with much sadness we announce the passing of a dear husband and father. Roger passed peacefully at the Mississauga Trillium Hospital on Sunday, June 20, 2021 with his family by his side.
He will be lovingly missed by his wife of almost 60 years Evalyn (nee Merritt) and his devoted sons Mark (Ann Bryan) and Norm (Stephanie nee - Spicer). Proud grandpa of Clayton, Alanna, Bradley and Jennifer – how he loved to playfully tease them!

TRATTNER, Freda Leah (McLaughlin) - Freda Leah Trattner (McLaughlin) of Toronto, passed away suddenly on June 20, 2021.
Freda, affectionately called 'Fred' by her husband and close friends and Bubbie by her two grandchildren, passed at the age of 71 in Toronto.
She was born to parents Harold and Marie McLaughlin, March 29, 1950 in Saint John, New Brunswick. She married Tom in 1972. Freda is survived by her husband, her two sons Benjamin and Jesse, grandchildren Layla and Kareem, daughters-in-law Jasmine and Nicole and her brother George and his wife Sandy.

ZISLIS, Irina - Irina Zislis, at the age of 66 passed away June 20, 2021 with her daughter by her side.
She was born to the late Anna and Vladimir Nemirovsky, March 11, 1955, in Odessa, Ukraine. She was their youngest child and had two older brothers Phillip and Symon.
She married Grigory Zislis on March 1, 1974 and have been together for a loving 48 years. Two children survive Irina: Mirl Zislis and David Zislis. Her grandchildren also survive her: Hannah Simone Alaimo and Sharron Rose Zislis.

LEHOUX, Philippe - (1939 - 2021) - Philippe Lehoux passed away on June 20th 2021, at the palliative care of Credit Valley Hospital, in Mississauga.
He was predeceased by his parents Phidelem Lehoux and Ri-ta Boyte and his brother Claude.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Huguette Fournier Lehoux, his sisters Lucille, De-nise, Janine, Monique, Thérèse and his brothers Robert, Jean-Pierre, André and many sisters and brothers-in-law and many nephews and nieces.

SEQUEIRA, Lucille - We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lucille Sequeira on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 at the age of 81.
Lucille was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Born to Rose-Alma and Xavier Pouliot in 1939 at St Jean, Ile d’Orleans, Quebec. Lucille moved to Toronto in 1965, where she met her husband, Charles.
Together they lived in Aurora where they raised their three children.

WALSH, Mark - On Father's Day, Sunday June 20, 2021, peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital.
He enjoyed life to the fullest, especially his wonderful family.
Adoring husband to Sue, amazing father to Steven (and Rachel), Devora (and Naftoli), and beloved Zaidie to Yechiel Michel, Basya Malka, Yoelish, Chaya Royza, Eli, Aaron and Toby, and loving brother to Francine (and Danny), and uncle to their children.
He bravely fought cancer and transverse myelitis for the past eight months, and we are grateful to have had this special time to enjoy loving and meaningful conversations.

APOSTOLOPOULOS, Vasiliki - Passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
Better known as Vaso, came to Canada in 1963 with her husband, Michael, and their two children, Thanasaki and Fofi.
In 1966 they were further blessed with Maria.
Vaso was an accomplished seamstress and was very active in the Greek community. She did much fundraising for Greek Orthodox churches, as well as the yearly walk-a-thon for Hellenic Home for the Aged, which was her last home before her passing.
In addition to her philanthropy, she was a very social person, organizing dances and events for seniors and community members.

SCHOFIELD, Yvonne - Age 91, passed away peacefully at the Birchmount Hospital (Scarborough Grace) on Sunday, June 20, 2021.
She was born May 4th, 1930 in Toronto to Phyllis and George Forsyth; growing up on Kippendavie Avenue in the Beach, attending Eastern Commerce High School and developing a circle of friends that continues to this day.
In 1951, she took a job in Camp Borden where she met one of her dearest friends who helped her stalk a young Sergeant who eventually became the love of her life and her husband, Arnold.

BONANNO, Carmel “Charlie” - It is with great sadness that the family of “Charlie” Bonanno announces his passing at home in Toronto, on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at the age of 94 years.
He was born on December 4, 1926 in Selmun, Malta. Carmel had a passion for big band music. Carmel was a founding member of the Malta Band Club which now operates in Mississauga. He volunteered countless hours to the organization.
Carmel will be missed by his son Joseph Bonanno and daughter-in-law Elizabeth Bonanno.

FLAXMAN, Laurel Agnes MacPhail (nee BANKS) - Died peacefully, on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.
Laurel is survived by her husband of 69 years, Richard Flaxman, their three children, Robin, Ted and Susan, six grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Catherine, Gillian, Margaret and Stephany, three great-grandchildren, Sam, Elliot, and Daphne and her siblings Norma, Kay and Ray.
Laurel was born to Laurence and Frances Banks (nee Hurd) on August 28, 1930 in Saskatchewan; she was the tenth of eleven children.
In her early teens, Laurel relocated to Toronto where she attended Northern Vocational School then worked for the Imperial Bank of Canada.

HUGHES, Brian Douglas - It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather, Brian Douglas Hughes, on Sunday, June 20, 2021, one day before his 73rd birthday.
Predeceased by his parents Allan (2011) and Sheila (2009).
He leaves behind his loving wife Heather, daughters Stephanie Ham (Dave) and Jennifer and sisters-in-law Sandra Hughes (Bruce) and Shirley Reid (Tab).

He was a kind, gentle and easy going person who adored his grandchildren and the newest arrival, Stephanie and Dave's adorable, little Henry.

PHILLIPS, Ronald Theodore - March 16, 1941 - May 30, 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Theodore Phillips, on May 30 2021, after a 14-year battle with Parkinson's.
God saw you were tired and a cure was not at hand, so he put his arms around you saying come unto me. Ronald was born in Kingstown, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
After completing his studies he worked as a Civil Servant in the Customs Department.
In 1966, Ronald traveled to Toronto, Ontario, to join his beloved sister Patsy. He found work with the Ontario Government and later with the Amercian Express Company.
