Lee MeganLEE, Megan - Died during the early morning of September 23, 2018 in Toronto.

She filled 31 years with passion, love, art, and intellectual exploration.

Megan was born and raised in Montreal. She attended Royal West Academy and Dawson College, and graduated with great distinction from McGill University with degrees in English Literature, Women’s Studies and World Religions.

Her passion for teaching led her to work as the Coordinator of the English Reading Program at the Snowdon Kumon Learning Centre before going on to study law at McGill.

During her law degree, Megan co-founded the Community Mediation Initiative, served on the OutLaw executive, and competed in the bilingual Laskin Moot, where her team won the prize for best factum.

Megan cared deeply about helping others in need. She volunteered at the McGill High School Outreach Program as a Senior Animator, the Legal Information Clinic at McGill, the Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations as a Legal Researcher, and the Just Solutions Legal Clinic as a legal intern in immigration and refugee law. After law school, Megan worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism before moving to Toronto and working at Legal Aid Ontario and community legal clinics, most recently the Unison Community Legal Clinic.

Megan also brought her passion and enthusiasm to creating art, including painting, poetry, photography, and music; appreciating nature and travel; and cultivating deep and meaningful friendships with others. Those who knew her appreciated her sincerity, sense of humour, compassion, enthusiasm, intelligence, and loyalty. Megan was always there with a listening ear and a mug of tea, plus gluten-free goodies for the brave.

Megan leaves behind her loving spouse of nine years, Sarah Glaser, her mother, Deborah Lee, and her brother, Francis Lee.

A memorial service to celebrate Megan’s life will be held on Friday, October 5, at 10 a.m. at Morley Bedford Funeral Services, Toronto. Those who knew Megan are invited to come and share their memories of her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) would be appreciated.
