Barnett BettyBARNETT, Betty Louise (nee NORRINGTON)   - Betty Barnett peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Guelph General Hospital, at the age of 94.

Betty was born in Toronto and was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Norman Norrington and her sisters, Edna Jury and Ethel Till.

The most beloved mother of Adrienne Matthews (Larry), Paul Barnett (Gloria Walstrom) and Helen Louise Mason (Gordon).

A loving Grandma to Tyler Mason (Shannon), Jennifer Mason Hammill (Jadon) and Emily and Adrienne Barnett.

Mum was so proud to be Great-Grandma to Ava, Jack and Luke Mason, Logan Hammill and Cassie and Corbin Barnett.

She is also lovingly remembered by Ellen, Todd, Kristi, Spencer, Mitchell Matthews and Kathy Osler.

We would like to share with the world that Mum was really, "a one of a kind" who successfully raised three children on her own in a different time and era, while breaking through "glass ceilings" in her professional career.

Family was her priority and Mum was laser focused on it, making many innumerable personal sacrifices through the years to make sure the family thrived. Both her Canadian and American extended families love her dearly and Mum always made each of us feel that we were unique and special to her.

Her own love, compassion, sense of humour, insightfulness and belief in the importance of one's "word" once given, lives on in all of us today. We appreciate the many things Mum shared with us about the world, revealed on her favourite CNN shows.

The matriarch of our family is gone, but her life lessons endure.

Her love lives on in our hearts!

Our family would like to especially thank the care givers and staff as well as new friends made at Eden House Retirement Home for the wonderful treatment provided to our mother for the past year and a half and the other medical professionals through the years who made her ability to enjoy life, possible.

Cremation and private interment as per Mum's wishes will take place.

Mum was a champion of animals in need. Donations to the OVC Pet Trust would be appreciated.
