Powell ThelmaPOWELL, Thelma May (nee Pickering) - Passed away peacefully at Parkview Long-Term Care Home, Stouffville, January 21, 2019 in her 95th year.

Dearly loved wife for almost 66 years of Clarence (deceased).

Loving mother of Gordon (Susan), Bill (Sandra), Noreen (Glenn) Barber, Elaine Harman (Doug), Donna (Albert) Schevers.

Cherished Grandma to Patricia (Brad), Nosworthy, Geoffrey (Jenn), Byron, Michael, Jennifer (Blair) Carmichael, Andrew (Sally), Christopher Barber, Erin (Paul) Ivany, Jodi (Wes) Craven, Tamara (James) Goldie, Edward (Alicia) Lawrenson, Shaun(Gwen)Schevers, Tracy Schevers, Scott Schevers, and Diane (Clint) Craven.

Thelma was also a special Grandma to 18 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brother James Pickering and sister Shirley Liscombe.

Survived by sister Violet Clydesdale (Harold, deceased) and Gail Matthews (Reg).

The family will be accepting visitors at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham, Sunday, January 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A service celebrating a life well lived, will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019- 1:00 pm at Springvale Baptist Church, 3885 Stouffville Road (visitation 12:30 pm).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Thelma to the Springvale Baptist Church or Parkview Long-Term Care Home.

Special thanks to the staff of Maple Grove, Parkview for their excellent care.
