McRae LydiaMcRAE, Lydia Virginia (nee Jones Campbell) - It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the loss of Lydia Virginia McRae (nee Jones Campbell) on December 23, 2020.

She was born on March 12, 1925 to the late Louisa Jones and Dan Campbell in Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Guyana.

Predeceased by siblings Christina Tom, Ugine Paris Jones, George Pindar, Ulton Jones and Cecilia Crawford, her loving husband of 67 years Victor McRae and her son Dencourt McRae, she is survived by her dearest sister Jane Gonsalves, her loving children Romeo McRae, Sheryl Barry, June Hendricks, Joel McRae and Janice McRae.

 

Also survived by 24 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family and friends.

Lydia was a loving and amazing Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great Great Grand Mother who showered her family with lots of love and affection. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and took pleasure in cooking and baking. Her culinary skills were only surpassed by her kindness and generosity. Lydia had a great sense of style and enjoyed shopping especially for her Church outfits. She loved the Lord and looked forward every week to attending Church and Sunday school.

May her soul rest in peace with the Lord.

Due to COVID19 pandemic restrictions, the funeral and burial will be by invitation only. This is under the direction of the Public Health and the Provincial Government of Ontario. We must ensure the safety of the family and the funeral home staff involved. Those who cannot attend are welcome to view the visitation and funeral service which will be livestreamed online.
