BLACK, Lynne Davidson (nee SUNDERLAND)   - 1936 - 2021  The family announces the sad passing of Lynne on January 14, 2021 at home, surrounded by the loving care of her daughter and grandson.

Predeceased by first husband Peter MacKenzie, second husband Dr. Davidson Black III, and son Davidson Black IV.

Survived by daughter Adrienne Black-Shippee, and grandsons Jamieson, Ryerson, Wyndham and Noah.

Lynne devoted her life to family and the curation of history.

A cum laude graduate of University of Toronto in East Asian studies, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Royal Ontario Museum's Bishop White Committee's East Asian Conservation Department for over 40 years.

Together with her beloved husband Davidson, Lynne was a life member of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

As the daughter-in-law of renowned Canadian Anthropologist Dr. Davidson Black II who discovered "Peking Man", Lynne curated and donated many of his artifacts to The Canadian Geographic Society and The University of Toronto in particular. Lynne passed as she lived her life - with dignity and love.

A Celebration of Life for Lynne will take place in 2022.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to The Scott Mission in Toronto, a charity she held dear to her heart.
