Nightingale WilliamNIGHTINGALE, William Brue  -  October 29, 1940 - January 23, 2021

Suddenly but peacefully passed away from a stroke at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener.

Loving husband of Kathleen (Yates).

My five children: Bruce and Jennifer (mother Jane Hutcheson Gardner) and Tara Sawchuk (Daniel), Kristine (Evan) and Laura (Ross).

The apple of his eye grandson James Bruce (born June 2018) and three granddaughters - Angelique, Gwendolyn and Henrietta.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law Marlene Yates.

 

Predeceased by his son William Bruce (January 6, 2001); Dad William Bruce (1989); Mother Doris (Gray) (1991); sister Darlene Cotgreave (2004); father-in-law William James Yates (January 11, 2021). He leaves behind his daughter-in-law Maria. His brother-in-law Harold Cotgreave (Sault Ste. Marie) and Harold's children Kevin and Kim.

Sister-in-law Patricia Boettcher (Werner) and their children Robert (Monica) their son Grayson and newest addition in February; Rosalee and their children Ellie; Jacob and Robin. Always involved with the community he was a sixty plus member of his Boy Scout troop which eventually became "The Rovers".

He was also a longtime member of Sertoma.

Bill worked as a crossing guard for the City of Kitchener for over 20 years after retiring from the Toronto Star.

Bill has been interred at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
