Bryan DavidBRYAN, David Patrick   -  February 12, 1938 - January 21, 2021

It's with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my husband and love of my life David (Dave) Bryan, a man of honour, courage and strength on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at Rapelje Lodge from complications of COVID-19.

Predeceased by his mother Edna Bryan (Braney), father Harry Bryan and sister Diane.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years Carol, his children Kim, Nancy, David Jr. and Patricia, his brother Larry and his niece Lee-Ann.

He was also gifted with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

Born and raised in Toronto, he started his career at an early age as a lifeguard at the famous Toronto beaches.

Over the years he served as an officer with the Toronto Harbour Police which later amalgamated with Toronto Police Services. He moved through the ranks, retiring in 1989 with the rank of "Staff Inspector".

When Dave retired in 1989, he spent his remaining years in Welland with his soulmate Carol. Dave was soon welcomed and embraced by Carol's family. Her four siblings, Marshall (Glennis), Donna (Ian), Ramona (Dave) and Hughena (Charlie).

Through their years of marriage, Dave became a much-loved uncle to his nieces and nephews.

The past four years, Dave was a resident at D.H Rapelje Lodge in Welland. I can say with confidence that he was getting excellent care from the kind, compassionate and caring Staff in House 500.

I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for Dave and myself.

A very special thank you to Dave's brother Larry for all his support. Dave really looked forward to his visits from his "bro". Also Patricia (Jim and family) and our many friends (Wilma) and relatives for their visits and loving support.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements with H.L. Cudney Funeral Home, Welland.

Due to current restrictions, a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

If desired, a donation in Dave's memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara or D.H. Rapelje Lodge, Welland.
