Fasken TammyFASKEN, Tammy Joanne - (March 19, 1964 - February 28, 2021)

It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tammy-Jo Fasken of Collingwood, Ontario, on February 28, 2021 at the age of 56, following a 5 ½ year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Tammy will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: James (Toni), Gordon (Susan) and Bobby (Amanda); her grandchildren: Eric, Johnny, Vincent, Alexandra, Tayler, Clay and Joey; her mother Joanne Fasken; her siblings Peter (Mary-anne), Bob (Nicole), Andrew (Brandy) and Lindsay (JF); her nieces: Stephanie, Carolyn, and Taylor; her nephew Mitchell as well as her aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tammy was predeceased by her father Peter (Sheila) Armer and her sister Nikki.

Tammy grew up in Mississauga, Ontario and spent her summers with her family and friends at the cottage up on Lake of Bays. She will be remembered as an incredibly special woman who had the ability to light up any room she was in with her bright and positive energy. It was this energy that powered her strength and determination to fight ALS, which will forever serve as a source of inspiration for perseverance in the face of great adversity.

At Tammy’s request, no service will be held at this time and a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Skinner and Middlebrook funeral home, Mississauga.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Amy, Sandy and Julia; Dr. Singh; Dr. Zinman and his team at Sunnybrook’s ALS and neuromuscular clinic; as well as all of the kind people who cared for Tammy during her battle with ALS.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations may be made in Tammy’s name to the ALS Society of Canada (ALS Canada), or to volunteer your time to ALS Canada to help them on their mission to improve the lives of people affected by ALS through support, advocacy and investment in research for a future without ALS.
