BONDAD, Avelino Poyaoan - A teacher to many, a mentor to the young and old, and a friend to all - peacefully passed away on March 2, 2021 at his home in Newmarket, Ontario surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He was 79.
Avelino was born to Jacobo and Alberta on June 30, 1941, in the Philippines.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife Faustina; son Rex and wife Melanie; daughter Mary Zennia; daughter Mary Heidi and husband Fernando; five grandsons: Joshua, Zean, Timothy, Marcus, Matteo; and brother Pedro and wife Aquilina. He was preceded in deaths by three sons: Jose Mari, Mark David and Hubert Kelly.
He was a professor in Saint Louis University from 1967 to 1978. He was a Manager of an Insurance Company in 1979 to 1985. He was Pastor for many years until he came to Canada in 2004. He worked at Costco in 2006 until he died.
He was an avid reader, a linguist, a basketball fan, a gardener, and a carpenter. He will be remembered for his friendliness, his good humor, his powerful testimony, his unwavering work ethic and his generous smile.

With grateful hearts, the family would like to extend their love and appreciation to his nephrologist Dr. Edwin Matthew Y.C. Fong, to the Peritoneal Dialysis Team and to the Hemodialysis Team for the untiring care and support they have extended to him.
