LAZAROVITS, Elizabeth (nee Danczinger)Elizabeth Lazarovits (nee Danczinger) passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2021, a month prior to her 98th birthday.

Beloved wife of the late Miksa Lazarovits, mother of Kathy and George Lazarovits, mother-in-law to Miriam Lazarovits and Bill Prychitka, a proud and loving grandmother to Aaron (Liza Prychitka) and David Prychitka (Jaydene Lavallie) and to Mike (Susan Lambert) and Jacob Lazarovits (Georgina Robinson).

Her 4 great grandchildren Bailey, Henry, Ethan and Myles were a delight in Elizabeth’s life.

Elizabeth was a nurturing, wise, loving person whose strength shone throughout her life. She was forward thinking, hard working and a kind person who took pleasure in helping everyone around her.

A survivor of Auschwitz and Dachau concentration camps, at the age of 20 and grieving the loss of her parents, sisters and nephews she returned to her hometown in Hungary and built a new life with Miksa. Along with two young children, they escaped Hungary in 1956 and spent almost a year in Austria waiting to immigrate to a new homeland. Once again they started a new life, now in Canada, and brought their son and daughter up selflessly and lovingly.

Our mother will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Private Family Arrangements entrusted with Steeles Memorial Chapel.

Donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society (416-488-8772) or Sunnybrook Hospital (416-480-4483).

Due to Covid, shiva will be observed privately
