Kilgus HildegardKILGUS, Hildegard Marie (Volkert) - Hildegard Marie Volkert was born on the 27th of June, 1928 in Weissenburg Germany.

She had her first daughter Tessie on the 27 July 1948. Hildegard and her 11 year old Tessie bravely crossed the ocean and came to Canada in August of 1959. On December 16th, 1962 Hildegard married Dieter Karl Kilgus and together they grew their family.

Hildegard Kilgus passed peacefully at home on March 19th, 2021 after a short illness, with family by her side.

She is survived by daughters Linda Kilgus and Heike Kilgus (John Hagley); her grandchildren Ian Smith (Lisa Anne Cramm) Mark Smith (Naku Diaz), Eric Smith (Lydia Green), Michael Marshall and Sean Marshall, and great grandchildren Calvin Smith, Aunika Smith and Odin Smith.

She is also survived by her sister Gerda Jakobi (Richard Jakobi) and nephews Edward Jakobi (Luanne Jakobi), Stephen Jakobi (Yvonne Jakobi), Thomas Hupfer, Jochen Hupfer, David Simmons, and nieces Denise Jakobi (Ron Becker), and Susan Volkert (Scott Roberts). She is also loved and remembered by close companion Manfred Otter and dear friends Rudi Steinmar, Lise Bornshine, Karin Baar and Gerhard Schaffer.

Hildegard is reunited with her husband Dieter Kilgus, daughter Tessie Smith, sisters Inge Hupfer and Issie Simmons and brother Heinrich Volkert.

Hildegard was a loving mother who was devoted to her family and loved every moment she spent with them. She will be remembered for her commitment to her family and friends, her love of sharing her exceptional ability to cook and entertain, and her unforgettable spirit.

The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Central Local Health Integration Network for their exceptional compassionate care.

Visitation will be held for the immediate family only on the 3rd of April at 1:00 PM at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place immediately after.

Flowers can be sent to the Kane-Jarrett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider a donation to the Hill House Hospice in Richmond Hill.
