REED, Kenneth John - With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the unexpected passing of Kenneth John Reed, on Monday March 22nd, 2021 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, at the age of 61. Ken passed away with his loving family by his side.
Ken will be missed by his family and friends who knew him to be fun loving, kind-hearted, supportive, talented and humorous with all of his quirky jokes; he was known to be the life of the party, even when there was none.
He was an adoring dad to Jonathan (Meghan) and Courtney (Eric), former husband to Ellen, a devoted Grandpapa to Zoey, a cherished partner to Leona, and a caring brother to Ron (Mary), Paul (Michelle), Bob, Carol (Mark), and Tom (Mirela).
Ken had many passions in life and was always keeping busy whether it was fishing, golfing, going to the cottage, trying to start small businesses on a whim, barbequing, spending time with family, watching sports, jamming out to music or putting around the house. We would always find Ken working on projects in the garage and making wooded crafts for family and friends. Ken appreciated the little things in life as he always enjoyed observing the beauty of nature, gazing at the stars, and taking pictures of sunsets and those he loved.
We find comfort knowing that in his final days, Ken was the happiest he had been in a long time as he had just retired, moved closer to his daughter, and had big dreams ahead. We are at ease knowing that Ken is accompanied by his best bud, Brad, in heaven, hitting golf balls and sharing laughs. Life will not be the same without our Ken.
We would also like to thank Huntsville Memorial Hospital as well as the Huntsville Comfort Inn for all their wonderful support during this difficult time.
Due to Covid - 19 restrcitions, the visitation and service will be invitation only. Arrangements and details about a livestream service link are entrusted with Taylor funeral home, Newmarket.
In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to donate to Kids Sports Canada. We know that this is a cause that Ken would love as he was passionate for sports and helping others.
