De RANGO, Gennaro - With great sadness and heavy hearts, the family of Gennaro De Rango announces the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Saturday, March 27, 2021.
Born on February 16, 1929, to Gaetano and Angelina in Rende, Calabria, Italy.
Forever in the heart of his beloved wife of 64 years, Teresa (nee Conforti). Loving and proud father to Maria Pia De Rango (Paolo Daniele), Gaetano De Rango (Rita) and Francesco De Rango (Theresa).
Adoring grandfather to Danielle, Marc and Luke De Rango, and Liana Teresa Daniele. Dear brother to Adamo De Rango (Francesca) and Mario De Rango (Ada), and united in Heaven with his brothers and sisters Adelina De Rango (Francesco Giordano), Gaspare De Rango (Fedora), Giuseppina De Rango (Amedeo Runco), Rita De Rango, Eva De Rango, Ida De Rango (Achille Pellegrino). Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews, as well as grand nieces and nephews.
In 1964, Gennaro, with his wife Teresa and their three young children, emigrated from southern Italy to Toronto, Canada. During his life, Gennaro worked extremely hard and made countless sacrifices for his family to have a better life. In his younger days, Gennaro enjoyed playing cards and bocce with the boys at the club.
He will always be remembered for his deep love of family, his strong Catholic faith, and his passion for gardening and famous tomato sauce. Gennaro will leave an enormous void in the lives of his family and friends, and of those whose lives he touched.
Private Funeral Service (Publicly Livestreamed from the Delmoro funeral home website) will be held on March 31st at 9:30 am at All Saints Church, 1415 Royal York Road, Etobicoke, ON. Private Committal Service will be held at 11:30 am at Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Road, Etobicoke, ON.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sick Kids Foundation, Alzheimer Society of Canada, and Kipling Acres Nursing Home.
