Waterman MartinWATERMAN, Martin Conrad - (November 20, 1941March 18, 2021)

To my dearest Martin, who I affectionately named “Uncle Buck” and will greatly miss.

We met so long ago at a Poker Game. At that time, I was feeling so broken and was actually crying inside. After spending time with you at the game (and beating you with my winning poker hand), all I could think about was the laughter and how funny you were. You lifted my spirit immediately and I felt better than I had in months. We exchanged numbers and started dating shortly after.

Our first date was dinner on St. Claire and our second date, we spent time at one of your favourite hangouts – Greenwood Racetrack. Shortly after, you asked me to move in with you and we became extremely close. I fondly remember all of the great parties you hosted and all the wonderful people I met and grew to love. You were such a fun, easygoing person and just made me laugh nonstop.

You asked for my hand in marriage a few months later, however, I was still so broken it took me a few years to agree to marriage. I knew when the time was right since you’d always taken such great care of me giving me unconditional love and affection. And besides, you were always dressed to the hilt (or clean as the Board of Health as we say in the U.S.) and very, very easy on the eyes.

My union with you was one of the best decisions of my life. I can truly say that I wouldn’t be who I am today had you not been there to nurture my broken heart and mind.

I know that I’ll see you again in Heaven when I cross over to the other side, but I say Bye for now. I’m truly going to miss you.

With Love,
Linda Diane (your wife)

Arrangements entrusted with Jerrett funeral home, St. Clair Chapel.

A limb has fallen from the family tree. I keep hearing a voice that says, "Grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I'm counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin. Until the day comes we're together again.” ~ Author unknown
