SANTANDER, Andrea P. - Of Toronto, Ontario, passed away from hemorrhagic stroke on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at St. Joseph Hospital with some of her loved ones by her side. She was 92 years old.

Andrea (Andy to her family & friends) was born in Manila, Philippines on November 30,1929. She graduated with a diploma in Midwifery from the Maternity College of Midwifery in Manila and eventually worked as a Midwife in the hospital of the same name.

A few years later she began her field work in such places as Los, Banos, Laguna & Laor, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines where she landed a job in Fort Magsaysay Army Station Hospital. She then moved to Bad Hamburgh, Germany in 1965 through a Professional Exchange Program and then to Toronto, Canada in 1968 where she worked at St. Michael’s Hospital and several other Nursing Homes and hospitals until her retirement in 1995.

She is survived by her brother, Meliton., sister, Justina, sisters-in-law, Sally & Billie, as well as her nieces, nephews. great nephews & nieces & great great nephews & nieces.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, Markham. A Memorial Mass will also take place from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Her remains will be laid to rest at Etobicoke. Due to Covid-19 safety guidelines, visitation is restricted to 10 people at a time & the funeral is limited to only 10 people.
