HAMEL, Yvette (nee LEBLANC) - Passed away peacefully, in Burlington on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the age of 90.
Beloved wife of the late Guy Hamel for 59 years. Loving mother of Suzanne (Tom Reilly), Louise (Jim Stacy), Marc (Patricia Ciprietti), Michelle (Kevin Hinchey), and Paul (Ruth Anne Creighton).
Born in St. Anselme, NB, she studied to be a nurse and was an accounting administrator at Sears and owner of a window manufacturing company.
She was an active community volunteer and longtime resident of Mississauga. Proud Mèmère of Adrian, Blake, Jasmine, Emily, Zachary, J. T., Nicole, Hannah, Hayley, Gabrielle, Luc, Natalie and Matthew.
Cherished great-grandmother of four. Dear sister of Germaine Goguen (George) and Lucille LeBlanc; and sister-in-law of Roger and Louise Hamel. Yvette's strong presence and wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
For those who wish, donations in memory of Yvette can be made to the Hamel Family Foundation (created to carry on the giving legacy of Yvette and Guy), the Alzheimer's Society of Halton or the Heart and Stroke Foundation, would be sincerely appreciate.
