ZHANG, Mrs. Jingbin - (April 7, 1933 – May 18, 2021) - On May 18, 2021, Jingbin Zhang, loving wife and mother of three children peacefully passed away at the age of 88.

She was predeceased by her parents and in-laws and is survived by her: husband Bingyan Tao; son Ningsheng Tao (Ya Tao); daughters Suping Tao and Leeping Tao (Roger Wells); grandchildren John Tao, Wendy Zhou, Peter Tao, Joanna Tao; and a large circle of relatives and friends.

Jingbin was born on April 7, 1933, in Shandong China. She was beautiful, smart, honest, and hard-working. She treated everyone kindly and fairly, particularly those less fortunate than her. Despite a difficult life experiencing many cultural shifts in China, she protected her family through harsh conditions and was a university professor until her first retirement. Many students still view her as a role model and mentor.

Jingbin came to North America in 1988, and overcame significant barriers to establish a second career as a health care worker devoted to those with physical disabilities until her second retirement in 2005. Her clients always spoke highly of her care.

Jingbin had a passion for the arts, painting, music (especially Beijing Opera), and poetry. She was a devout Catholic with many brothers and sisters of the faith. She was known to always put others first and she did not wish her family or friends to feel sad or endure hardships on her behalf. She will always be remembered dearly in our hearts and deeply missed.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, only immediate family members will attend the service at Ogden Funeral Home on June 1st, from 9am – 11am. The burial will take place at 11:30am at Pine Hills Cemetery.
