Carroll MarionCARROLL, Marion Jean - A most loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto on Monday, May 31, 2021, at the age of 88.

She is survived by her seven children: Debra, Janet, Nancy (Steven), Elizabeth (Donald), Heather, Jeffrey (Angela) and Andrea (Alan); 16 grandchildren: James, Allison, Elyssa, Vanessa, Matthew, Leah, Emma, Hannah, Joshua, Theo, Ryan, Andrew, Gregory, Nicole, Erica and Johnny; two great-grandchildren Bodhi and Ari; sister-in-law Jean and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bruce Carroll of 67 years, her parents Frank and Alice Vaughan, her sisters Marjorie and Joan, her brothers Owen and Raymond and son-in-law, Scott.

She was born in Windsor, Nova Scotia, the youngest of five children, where she excelled at school and made life-long friends. She loved to sing, attend dances and play hockey. Throughout her life, she always retained a girlish spirit and love of life.

She was a warm, dedicated and passionate mother to her seven children and their many friends. She devoted herself to her family, and was actively engaged in volunteer work through their activities, sports and school. She was a gifted seamstress, sewing exquisite clothes for her children and grandchildren.

She and Bruce moved from Nova Scotia to Toronto in 2006. She loved her life in Toronto, being close to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending winters with Bruce and their family and friends in Naples, Florida. Relationships were deeply important to her: she loved people and people loved her. She never missed a birthday or anniversary and had an extraordinary memory. She always had a positive outlook and was grateful for each day. We loved her deeply and know that she loved all of us.

Thank you to Lita, Dr. Morch, Dr. Sibai, Verna and  the caring nurses and doctors at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Mount Sinai Hospital.

Donations may be made in her memory to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre or a charity of your choice.
