Shortly after celebrating her 89th birthday, Helen passed away in the Palliative Care Unit of the Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on May 27, 2021.

Helen was born in New Brunswick and was the only daughter of the late Elma and Osman Richards.

She was predeceased in 1988, by her husband of 35 years, Ernest Pomeroy.

Also predeceased by her brother Ward Richards and his wife Sharon.

Helen is survived by her brother-in-law Stanley Pomeroy and his wife Loralee, her sisters-in-law Ruth Olson, wife of the late Leroy Olson and Doreen Pomeroy and many nieces and nephews.

Both Helen and Ernie enjoyed travelling in their Heilite Trailer with their dog Butch and Peter, and their pet budgie, to many Provincial Parks throughout Canada.

They also both relished looking, working and riding old trains driven by steam locomotives.

In 1997, Helen purchased a home in Pinehurst Village, Dunedin, Florida and had 23 wonderful winters in the sun with many friends. Helen retired in 1990 from the Bell Telephone Company where she worked in a clerical position.

Once retired Helen and her friend Alison Suchostawski worked tirelessly as volunteers at the St. Hugh & St. Edmund Anglican Church.
