HAYLE, Luther - After a long and full life of 92 years, Luther passed away on June 30, 2021 peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He was a devoted husband to Dorothy of 55 years.
Beloved father to Jackie, Paul, Denise and Mark.
Cherished grandfather of Aishlyn, Simeon, Elijah, Jayden, Kyla, Jamal, Hannah and Noah.
Luther was born in Copeswood, Westmoreland Jamaica, W.I. on September 3, 1928 and is pre-deceased by his mother Louise Reynolds and father Albert Hayle.
He was the first born of 11 children.
Survived by brothers, Eddie, Lloyd, Charlie and Basil along with sisters, Violet, Hyacinth, and Beverley. Pre-deceased by siblings Chester, Dorothy, and Ralph.
Luther was a hardworking, exceptionally trained carpenter who was highly regarded in his field. He was happiest when socializing at a family event, playing dominoes or planting something in his garden. He was above all, a man of faith.
We wish to thank all the family, friends and neighbours who supported him throughout his journey including the countless PSWs who cared for him.
He ultimately lost his battle with colon cancer; however, his strength and resilience will always be remembered. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be at McDougall & Brown Funeral Home, Scarborough on Friday, July 9th. There will also be visitation at Global Kingdom Ministries at 1250 Markham Road, Scarborough on Saturday July 10th from 10 am until 11 am followed by a service from 11am until 12 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s association.
