SCHOLLAR, Dorothy Velma (nee SKELDING)   -  Our beloved mother died peacefully on May 27, 2021.

Dorothy was the daughter of Wilfred and Eleanor Skelding and was predeceased by her younger sister Pat Davies (Art). "Do" was born in St. Vital, Manitoba, September 14, 1922.

She had wonderful memories of her childhood in St. Vital and loved to recall all the stories of family life.

Do had a beautiful singing voice and often participated in choirs and various music festivals.

During the war, mom worked at Hudson's Bay House and in November, 1945, she married the love of her life, Jim Aubrey Schollar, DFC.

Jim and Do were blessed with two daughters, Patricia Diane (Reid) and Sharon Lee Schollar.

The family moved to Toronto in 1958.

In the later years of their 52-year marriage, mom and dad moved from Banbury Road to Governor's Hill, where mom continued to live after dad's passing in 1997.

Later, daughter Sharon moved in with mom as companion, caregiver and loving friend.

Last year a fall and fractured hip necessitated a move to Sunrise Seniors Living, Richmond Hill.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sunrise Seniors Living, Integracare personal care workers, and the staff at North York General Hospital for their compassion and care during mom's stay with each of them.

Mom was a beautiful woman in every sense, with a radiant smile and a heart of gold.

She will be very sadly missed by her daughters, son-in-law, Peter, grandsons, Sean (Bethany), Brendan (Court) and Gavin, great-granddaughters, Jordan and Julia and her loving nieces and nephews.

The family is arranging a service for the interment of Dorothy's ashes on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Anglican Church, York Mills.
