STEWART, Ella Rowe   -  Passed away peacefully, at Bridgepoint Active Healthcare, on August 15, 2021.

Ella is survived by Ian, her loving husband of 62 years; two sons, Hamish (Susan Taylor), and Graham (Iris He); grandchildren Sean (Raisha Karnani), Jessica, Matthew, and Colin; sisters Gladys Mason (Gregory) of Dartmouth, NS, and Marilyn of St. John's, NL; brother Rick of Bristol, England; and sister-in-law Bev Rowe of Conception Bay South, NL.

Ella will be remembered by many nephews, nieces, and innumerable friends scattered across the world from Europe to Australia.

Holder of three university degrees, Ella taught for many years with the Toronto District School Board, mostly in special education, where she provided compassionate support for children with significant mental, emotional, and physical challenges.

After retirement, Ella became a committed volunteer for the very ill at Toronto's Cummer Lodge.

Best friend, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, chef, seamstress, chauffeur, caregiver – Ella Angel did it all. She will live in our hearts forever.

At Ella's request, there will be no funeral. A memorial celebration of Ella's life will be held soon.

The family would like to thank the many PSWs, nurses, and doctors who helped Ella in her long struggle with ALS.

In Ella's memory, donations to the ALS Society of Ontario, the Bridgepoint Foundation, or The Daily Bread Food Bank would be appreciated.
