Dowley JohannaDOWLEY, Johanna Mary (Delahunty) - It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Johanna Dowley announce her passing on August 9, 2021 in Scarborough, Ontario at the age of 95.

Cherished Mother of Joan Cormier (Brian), John Dowley (Jeannine), Geraldine Dowley Foley (predeceased), Maura Kolesznk (John).

Beloved Nan to Ryan Shears (Tanya), Laura Dowley (Jody), Sarah Bray (Mike), Charlotte Dowley(Wes) and loving Great Gran to Tyonna, Edie, Jack, Sean, Maggie, Brooklynn, Noah and Cora.

Predeceased by former spouse Richard Dowley.

She was born in 1926 in Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland and was the second oldest of eleven siblings. She had a close and loving family and her fond memories of family and her
beloved Ireland were never forgotten.

She emigrated to Canada in 1953 with her children Joan and John and joined her husband Richard Dowley in St. Thomas, Ontario. Shortly after they settled in Toronto and Geraldine and Maura were born.

She flourished there for about 10 years until her retirement.

Before she moved into her retirement residence, you would find her gardening in her beautiful, flower-filled backyard with her cats, Bailey and Kahlua, who would be asleep in the shade of her Lilac tree. Her idea of heaven.

In her later years, she lived at Retirement Suites By The Lake. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff for providing such loving care, compassion and kindness.

We are also grateful to the wonderful friends she made there who brightened her days with laughter and conversation.

An intimate family and friends gathering will be held at a later date.
