De Berardinis LillyDe BERARDINIS, Italia 'Lilly' 'Lellina' - (1937 - 2021) - It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Italia (Lilly/Lellina) De Berardinis at home on August 16th, 2021.

Lilly was predeceased by her beloved parents, Maria and Antonio Scianitti, her husband Antonio, and her siblings Lucia and Ottavio.

She leaves behind her youngest sister Michelina (Michelle) and her much-loved son, Nicola (Nick) De Berardinis, his wife Ida, and her adored grandchildren, Nicole (Luca) and Michelle (Ryan), as well as her great-granddaughter who is on the way, and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lilly will also be missed by the many friends she made throughout her lifetime, including the girls to whom she became a “sorority mom” from around the world during their educational exchange programs.

Lilly left her beloved home country of Italy, moving to Canada at 16 to build a new life. She married her husband Antonio in Toronto, and shortly after, she had her first and only son Nicola. She worked most of her life as a floral designer, a hobby she thrived at and thoroughly enjoyed.

Lilly was a very kind soul who always put others first. A humanitarian at heart, she truly loved people, and she had a huge soft spot for children and animals (including her much-loved yellow bird, Nikki). A social butterfly, she would always be making friends with strangers on the bus and brightening other people’s days. She also expressed her loving heart and devotion towards her family, most notably her husband, who she took care of for over ten years when he was ill.

A special thank you to Mary Haun, one of Lilly’s closest friends, who provided her with emotional and spiritual support, especially during her last years.

Arrangements entrusted with Jerrett funeral home, Scarborough chapel.
